Pruning of neglected grapevine.

3 grape vines were planted 10 years ago. I haven't attended to the vine for 3 years.
Before:
Grass and trees clog the plants, blue posts sag in. Since grapes grow on new growth, I cut out all the dead wood and keep the vine tied to wire.
After:
Spring 2021:  Whoops, it appears I cut too much off.  So....I looked up pruning grapes in a book that was on my own bookshelf. Growing fruit in the Midwest.

Two of the vines did recover, so maybe the one will come back next year. During the drought of 2021 June-August, the vines took off and this photo is taken after I have mowed and tied the vine to the wire supports (2 wires stretched between three posts.
I juiced the grapes after a simmer of 20-30 min. Do not boil.  The grapes went thru fairly well. I had to clean the screen after about a quart of grapes. This picture is my first attempt done without the simmering step.
The most success was achieved with adding Fruit Fresh to the filtered water in which that I simmered the grapes.
Note: one quart was done with about 10 red grapes with a quart of green grapes. (the green grapes turn a lighter shade of green when ripened).
The flavor was so intense I diluted it with water. Unique taste which I had not experienced.  We enjoyed about 4 or 5 quarts, drinking and tasting as we harvested.
