Jan. 31, 2018 is the date of the Blue moon eclipse.

The moon appeared this morning as a sliver of gray when it had been a super moon minutes before.  The super moon casts shadows in our back yard.
The sliver soon disappeared, the darkest enveloped the farm.  Was it a cloud or was it the total eclipse.  I ran back into the warm house.  Waited a bit and checked from the window.  It was in the Western sky, just 2 inches above the horizon in my estimation. In 5 minutes I was back at the window and saw something.  Back outdoors I went with binoculars in hand.  Now I could see a bit of a slice of moon on the lower right edge, just for a moment and it was gone.  Another cloud, I was sure had blocked my view.  That was my fleeting glimpse of the super moon eclipse, also a "Blue moon" and a Blood red moon, it was setting and I went back to bed.
