Like many farm sites in my county, our 5 acre home and out buildings, are surrounded by trees and we maintain trails around the site.  Our orchard and pastures are home to wildlife, too.  While out walking today I found this lovely bird that has expired on the path.  It's a beauty!

Leading goats from barn to graze in orchard can happen with treats and encouraging words.

Or chaos ensues!  First get a leash, and TREATS.  Hand feed a few treats like apple or carrot slices. Keep them interested with nibbles.  If they stop, you are not going to want to drag on the leash as they are very strong. Walk fast, have a clear goal and when bribe.

I made some new tidbits for them today.

Mixed up simply with cooked oatmeal mixed with cornflakes while warm!

My Project from MonarchWatch.org;  I noticed the larva disappearing from milkweed leaves so I did some research.  Then I went to remove 5 caterpillars off of milkweed plants to raise in the house due to all the birds in our yard.  I fed them the leaves until the cocoon formed. After 10 days, 3 had made it to the butterfly stage and were released after 24 hour wing dry time.

Construction of square in a square quilt using fabrics from the 2021 Expo challenge quilt.

I auditioned the red, and went with the tan background for the border.  Photos help visualize the composition.
