Thing # 23 Final Thoughts
"My opinion and I do have one" ( a quote from Ellen) is that this is a valuable experience. The library staff worked together on using Flickr, Facebook, Ning, Puzzlepirates, and blogging. It was a lot of fun to do!

Thing # 22 Ways to keep learning.
Each thing has so many links to browse. I resolve to follow more links, as distracting as they seem. I will be reading 23 things ona stick discussions. ( I have a post on Friends of the Library) I will be continuing with the MN Vol.Cert.Program and comparing books read on ReadingLounge.com; I will be looking at these and other things weekly if not daily. And I will watch for interesting classes or webinars in Webjunction. I like to keep up with what's new!

Thing # 21 Beyond myspace: other social networks
Ning, a social network with a group for us! I like this one with more librarians doing the same thing as me. I joined ning, and that was a riot! Read about Gather and webjunction. Will look back and reflect on this next week.
Thing # 18 with my Home video
Wilson is one fast puppy! This is what we see every morning after his 'let out' time.

Thing # 20 Facebook and myspace.
Now you can find me on facebook.com; as I am working on the 23things. Throw some spaghetti on my wall! I found other 23thing participants here.
In Facebook I joined 2 groups, Libraians and Technology, and Lib 2.0 group to communicate with someone else in my same job.
Facebook may be the fastest growing social network: It is a quick way to connect. You find out what's going on. My view of it is that I found it more complicated in that it offers more choices (is the term mashups?) of ways to connect all in one. Yes you get an integrated conglomeration of technology. In other words it takes some study. Libraries could use this to be connected to a lot of people at once.
MySpace How are libraries using MySpace? There are two links I will look at tomorrow. I looked at Hennepin's myspace. It was really important to relate to the teens.
Did you find anything on a library's MySpace page that would be useful for your library?
If you created your own MySpace page, how do you plan to use it?
It would require a IT person to manage the MySpace account. We are just too small of a library for the expence. We have a web page now, so this may develop in the future. It would provide more immediate communication to and from public.
